I. Bell Ringer: Have you ever heard a loud noise that you had to cover your ears? Have you ever experienced movement on the ground?

II. Objectives: Students will be able to understand what an earthquake is and how it can affect an entire city. Students will be able to react to this lesson.

III. Discussion:

a. What did you learn in the experiment?

b. Did you see how the cookie sheet shook all over and everything was wrecked?

c. Can you imagine the cookie sheet being the ground you are standing on and ruining an entire city.
