9/11

bellringer: what do you see in this picture? what don't you see? is there anything that could be done?

Students will be able to realize the immoral doings of 9/11. They will tell me what could be done to stop future occurances of this situation. They will point out the heros of 9/11 and recognize them for their couragious acts.

In class i will have students write letters to someone they love in their lives. it can be anyone they wish, dead or alive. I will also have them write a letter to the heroes of 9/11 and thank them for their couragious doings. after all this is done we will get them together into a large envolope and send them to NYC.

This will give them a sense of pride in what they did. they will feel involved and also this will give them something inside knowing they are making someone's day.

Closure: after the day is done we will get together in a group and talk about what the children think. they can ask questions about anything that is on the top of their minds.
