First and foremost, welcome to my educational web page. I have created this page as part of a class project. Currently, I am a sophomore at King's Colege, studying Elementary and Early Childhood Education, with a minor in Psychology.
I believe that a classroom should be a supportive and risk-free environment where students should have an active voice in their learning. Not all students learn in the same 'cookie-cutter' fashion and my goal is to do my best to adjust to each student's individual needs. Students should also be able to engage in a variety of individual activities while still involving themselves in collaborative work with other students.
Working with the school system's curriculum I will combine basic skills, authentic learning, along with a fun environment. I have a firm belief that most if not all children view the world as a safe and wonderful place. It is later when those feelings may change. It is my part as a teacher to make learning fun so that all children will want to come to school.
